Gareth Lewin  > Black and White > First attempt
This is my first attempt at Black and White processing. The image was shot at the Barnet Marine Park in Burnaby http://www.city.burnaby.bc.ca/cityhall/departments/departments_parks/prksrc_prksan/prksrc_prksan_brntmr.html)

Gareth Lewin > This is the original shot, no modifications except for some cropping.
Gareth Lewin > Here I used the trick of two hue/saturation layers to emulate a filter and B&W paper. I think the version came out nice, but a bit washed out. I did add a subtle layer of blue tint over the top.
Gareth Lewin > Expanding on the previous image, here I played around with the levels of the image, trying to expand the mid tones, I think this works very well, and is my favorite of the set, but it wasn't what I was going for.
Gareth Lewin > Here I used curves instead of the levels in the previous image. It is the effect I was going for, but I am not sure if it came out too strong.
